it’s yours

When God has something for you it is specifically for you. No one can take it! So what if someone else has the same gift, idea, talent etc. God has placed something unique inside of you and that same talent that you possess has a different pizzazz!!! Do not shrink back! If someone gets further than you do not covet or get upset they are going to get what God has placed for them to possess. When you get to where you need to go to obtain what’s yours from the Lord it will still be there!!!

God will cling to and favor those who have a clean heart/mind/soul.

1 Samuel 16:7

Man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart

Here in this scripture mentioned above God is calling us to fully examine ourselves from the inside out. It is easy to put on masks and hide things we don’t want to deal with. The challenging part is dealing with those things we tend to suppress. We tend to clean up what others can see so that we are presentable. When in reality our inner being is a mess. This actually hinders us from reaching our full potential. Just because we choose to ignore things that we suppress for a time in order to look presentable does not mean they are gone. Some thing or some one will trigger them and they will come up and show an ugly side of us that we never intended to show. That is what God is concerned with He wants us to deal with the issues that bother us and are unlike Him.

God is particularly concerned with your heart because it is where you hide your most personal thoughts. It’s your secret place. Here you can put A LOT. You will begin to act out what you place in your heart.

Its time to clean it up! If God is to reside within our hearts it should be clean,pure, inviting, open, willing, and ready to receive what it is He has for us. It is our duty to do our best to keep the heart clean for God. Of course we will need His help because we can’t do it on our own. Although the big decision is ours to first let go of those yucky things.

Ask yourself these questions.

Is my heart prepared for the King?

Is any part of my heart off limits?

What things have I hidden in  my heart?

 

New chapter

How can you see the brightness of the future by looking behind you?

“Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭3:13-14‬ ‭

Many of us spend time dwelling on things that shouldn’t have our attention very long. We keep going over the same things time after time. The enemy loves to get us lingering among negative things that prevent us from moving forward. We begin picking things we want to take from situations instead of seeing things for what they truly are.

By going into the past and digging up things and dwelling on them it hinders our ability to progress and move forward. Not saying its an easy task to let go. Simply because it is not! However it must be done in some situations. We need to take our hands off helpless situations and turn them over to God who is the way maker and allow Him to move. God can and will help you with these seemingly difficult tasks if you surrender them to Him.

If you’re struggling with past things and are ready to move forward in peace say this prayer:

God,

I am having trouble moving forward. Help me deal with my past so that I can move forward in you. I am tired of dwelling on things that cannot change. Help me to see myself through Your eyes. Help me to realize the potential and purpose in my life. Highlight the qualities in me that honor you. Makeover the qualities that are not like you. I am ready to step into the future that you have for me. Let your will be done in my life. In Jesus’ name Amen!

 

 

Grace

Showing grace to people who in your eyes doesn’t deserve it can be a hard thing to do. Let’s be real here when you know someone isn’t sorry and is capable of being destructive yet again it hits a nerve. We are human and it is tough to love unconditionally. That is why we need God’s strength to do these things. God has loved us through all of our mess, faults, repeat mistakes, and sinful actions. As God forgives us and we are to do the same for others and to show grace while doing so. It sounds simple but it is oh so complex! We don’t always get things right. We are learning and growing each day. We may make mistakes as we try to get this christian life right but God shows patience, love, kindness and grace. Just remember that in those times where you are feeling stuck or hesitant to show grace. God continuously comes to our rescue often! More times than we may want to admit. So when you see someone make a mistake but are trying to get it right show grace just as you would want someone to show you.

If you are struggling with grace and want to grow in this area say this prayer:

God,

Thank you for your grace that I did not earn. I can never repay you or understand the depth of your love. Thank you for freely showing grace in my life. Help me to show grace to those around me on a daily basis. I struggle to show grace even when people apologize. Help me to see that we are all human and may sometimes make mistakes. Humble me so that in the moments where I am having difficulty extending grace I can remember all that you have done in my life.  Show me how to respond with grace in all things I do and to all I come in contact with. In Jesus’ name Amen!

Breaking out your mind prison

The enemy helped you create a barricade around yourself with lies, unhealthy thoughts, doubts, anger, and fear. In doing this you’ve suppressed the love of God beneath those things. You’re feeling disconnected in a sense. The time has come to break down those walls.

God is calling out to you! You cannot hear because these things are blocking you. The enemy’s strategy is to get into your mind and cause chaos. To stop you from becoming who God truly created you to be. When God speaks it’s light, freeing, uplifting, encouraging, loving and positive. Don’t confuse the thoughts the enemy helped you plant!

In order to break down those walls you need to decide that enough is enough! You are a child of the King. Rise up and  find that warrior you once knew inside of yourself and speak the word of God over yourself. Straight from the word tell those things exactly what they are. False! Lies! Deception! 

It’s time to get back to the REAL you. The HAPPY you!

Spiritual gifts

God instilled gifts in all people when they were created. We all have a special part to play in the body of Christ. If you are interested in knowing what part you play take a spiritual gifting test. It will outline what gifts you possess. Once you get your results pray that God opens your eyes and ears to a better understanding of how you can use them daily. You can also seek help from a leader at your church.

Don’t be discouraged as you see others walking in giftings that God has given. You have a purpose and gifts that are waiting to be manifested. So take courage and believe that God has a plan for you. Greater than you know! Many times the things we are good at are areas that God can use us in! God is very intentional. 🙂
